Trump Tariff Exemptions

A wide range of food and agriculutral products, as well as chemicals, drugs, minerals, energy products and others, fall within the exemptions. These exemptions are from the now invalid IEEPA tariffs as well as the currently effective Section 122 tariffs. Examples of the food products enjoying Trump tariff exemptions include: food products including fresh and frozen beef, bananas, tomatoes, pineapples, avocados, limes, kiwis, coffee, tea, spices, cashews, Brazil nuts and more.

These exemptions were not applied automatically and needed to be claimed in your entry filings. If you failed to claim the Trump tariff exemption and are seeking a refund through the CAPE portal it will likely be rejected by CBP. If your entry has not yet liquidated you may file a post summary correction to fix it and get your overpayment refunded.
